Esiste la classe dell’architetto ed esiste la sensibilità dell’artigiano. Ma più raramente il saper coniugare l’uno e l’altra mantenendo la freschezza della personalità. Il fascino delle opere di Althea risiede proprio in questa rara prerogativa: unire la decisione del tecnico con la dolcezza di chi crea per la bellezza. È una speciale forma mentis che nasce naturale per un architetto donna formatosi negli studi nella città di Venezia: il luogo dove il fuoco fa sbocciare il vetro, l’acqua gioca coi riflessi e permea di perenne movimento la vita, e dove i coloristi hanno trovato la loro più piena ispirazione, dove non esiste prospettiva uguale all’altra, ma il gusto per una regalità senza tempo.
E le stesse caratteristiche si ritrovano nelle realizzazioni di Althea: le paste vitree in diverse forme e spessori emergono creando texture e riflessi, vibrando insieme alle perle veneziane ed ai marmi naturali, con accenti e guizzi in foglia d’oro e platino. Articolate strutture lignee così istoriate si adattano agli ambienti apparentemente in modo naturale, ma solo grazie ad un raffinato studio della commissione, senza che manchi la costante passione per colore, calore e unicità.
Il lavoro di Althea Amarante ha origine in forma di cornici: case private, saloni di bellezza, hotel e lounge bar trovano i loro protagonisti in complementi che poi con semplicità progettuale si espandono da cornice a parete, a tavolo, a corpo luminoso. È questa la storia di un dècor che da cornice diventa opera.
Oggi, nel suo atelier di Vicenza, l’Architetto continua la sua ricerca accogliendo con passione sempre nuove proposte di sperimentazione, e porta a Spa Design 2010 due progetti composti da tre opere complessivamente: due collocate nell’installazione TOTAL WHITE, una nell’installazione FRUITS SPA & LOUNGE, e con i quali da una parte si inserisce con attenzione sfruttando materiali, forme e texture naturali, dall’altra si accorda all’ambiente con complementi di moderna eleganza.

This is the natural outcome for a woman who loves both architecture and art, who studied in Venice: a place where the world’s famous glass is blown, where the water sparkles inspiring millions of colors combinations, and where the taste for beauty is timeless.
Althea’s work is characterized by all these elements: she mixes different hues of vitreous paste (the special venetian paste made out of natural dyes and glass components) creating astonishing textures and light effects, compounding natural marbles with venetian glass, topped by a light touch of gold or silver leaf where needed.
Althea specializes in interior designing, naturally adapting, stylizing, and creating customized interiors: private homes, beauty salons, hotels, and lounge bars, is just a hint of the variety of the projects undertaken; much attention and care is dedicated to create suggestive spaces, in which comfort and beauty find their balance in furniture, decorations and light designing.
In her atelier in Vicenza, the architect and interior designer Althea, keeps developing new projects with an open-minded and exciting approach to experimentation, taking to SPA DESIGN 2010 three works that fit-in harmoniously within the TOTAL WHITE and FRUITS SPA & LOUNGE spaces thanks to its materials, shapes and essentiality, a style between the eclectic and the contemporary taste.
